Best Ways to Cure Your Skin After a Long Night Out

Best Ways to Cure Your Skin After a Long Night Out

Let's face it. We've all been there. Whether it's vacation time, a girls night out, or a casual drink that turned into a much longer night, we're focused on having a good time then getting to bed with no worry in the world about our skin.. That is until the morning comes around and we're faced with everything from a headache, tired puffy eyes, to redness and dry spots. The good news; there's plenty of products and practices that we can do to help minimize all of the above without affecting your night out fun! Revive your night out skin and get fresh, glowing complexion, with these simple tips and products:

Wash Your Face When You Get Home

The last thing we all want to do to end a good night is remember to do our nightly skincare routine BUT at the bare minimum, wash your makeup, dirt, and grime off so that our skin is fresh and clean for bed, not trapped and rubbing against our pillow cases... If you didn't know already, cleansing our skin before sleeping dramatically decreases our chances of acne breakouts, redness, and irritation.

Can't make it to the bathroom? Fine. At least leave some makeup wipes at your night stand before heading out so you can remove as much as possible before sleeping! Klorane's Makeup Wipes are biodegradable and gently removes makeup while keeping your skin hydrated and toned. Most importantly, it's free of parabens, alcohol, sodium chloride, sulfates, and fragrances, so it's great for all skin types!

Hydrate- Inside & Out

Feeling dehydrated and congested? This is very common and the earlier we take action, the better. Staying hydrated throughout the night and in between alcoholic drinks is key not just for our recovery the next day, but for our skin to maintain its complexion. Otherwise, we're more likely to be pale, congested and puffy, and have dark under eye bags. As a bonus, add some lemon to your water as it can reduce inflammation.

On top of drinking plenty of water, be sure to moisturize your face after cleansing, and even opt for a hydrating sheet mask to reset our skin and prevent any dryness. Products with Hyaluronic Acid will be your best friend.

De- Puff

Eye bags? We got you covered. The best de-puffer is ToGoSpa's Ice Water Eyes. Pro tip, pop them in the fridge so they're nice and cold, then stick them under your eyes while getting ready. With Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, and Aloe Vera, it's great for brightening, bringing blood flow to the area, reducing puffiness, and calming the skin if you have any redness or irritation.

If you're out of these under eye gel pads, opt for a cold spoon and place under the eye for 2-3 minutes.

Massage

The puffiness/congestion in and around our face isn't exactly random. As mentioned earlier, alcohol can cause dehydration which leads to water retention especially above the neck. Using your fingertips, a jade roller, or gua sha tool and your favorite face oil or serum, gently massage your skin to bring blood flow and flush out any toxins. Focus on areas where you're extra puffy like cheeks, under eyes, and jawline.

Hopefully the next time you have a nice evening, you'll utilize these skin- revival tips to ensure a smooth wake up and glow!
